"Pancakes"

We have finished reading "Pancakes" by Joan Bauer. You can access this story and many others from the textbook online at ClassZone. The username is "Heck9th" and the password is "password" . Remember, don't ever make real passwords "password" because it isn't secure! (Check out these internet safety tips for more on how to use the web wisely!)

This story really only is a story because of its first person narration! The emotions, feelings, and struggles that Jill experiences make what would have been just a normal, busy restaurant in third person a story that maintains our interests and makes us laugh! As we continue to read more texts, keep this lesson in mind: perspective and point of view orients the reader in particular ways. Make sure you notice what the narrator is doing so you fully understand the depth and meanings of the story!
