Author's Purpose

There are so SO many reasons that people write and create texts. Remember any time you identify purpose, you should respond with an infinitive verb phrase: perhaps, ''to inform,'' ''to persuade,'' ''to entertain,'' or ''to express.'' On Wednesday, we will be reading ''The Lost Boys'' by Sara Corbett to look at the various purposes that can be employed within just one article and its various illustrations and photographs.
