Last Thursday, students received the assignment sheet for our class writing project, The School on Blue Ridge Drive. Today, students should have turned in "My Name Researching and Brainstorming" as well as the first draft of their name vignette. (vignette: a short piece of writing that blends poetry and prose)

Essentially, students are writing their own mini stories (100-300 words) that tell about snippets of their lives. Check out this vignette I wrote about a lazy Saturday at my house as an example.

The tentative final due date is September 28th when we will have computers to draft final copies of our vignettes to be published. Students will need to include at least one literary device in each vignette, totalling seven through the three vignettes. Make sure you are referring to the examples and definitions we have compiled.

It's time to unleash your creativity!!!
