Welcome back from Christmas Break! I hope your holidays were restful and joyful! To welcome us back, let's dive into some nonfiction reading!

Reading and processing nonfiction is an essential part of being an American citizen. In this unit we will learn how to read and code texts; identify claims, reasons, and evidence; and cite and annotate according to MLA format. Ultimately, you will be going through the steps of the research process, culminating in a text set on kids' cell phone use, an annotated bibliography, and an argumentative outline.
