Because YOU have set which standards you need to practice, YOU will choose activities that will best help you achieve those goals. If you look at the Unit Calendar and the Unit PowerPoint, you can see which days you will have time to do which assignments in class. Check out your ILP for the options for each category of assignment. I describe them below.

Formative Activities:

  • "Dessert" layer choices

  • Choose one from each category

  • Will count as classwork grades

  • Due during each week's discussion with your group (Activity 3 due April 13)

  • Match activity choices to your standards' needs

Summative Activities

  • Final Project

  • Meets your writing standard

  • Must be typed

  • Will count as test grade

  • Depth of Knowledge questions

  • Tests your thoroughness of reading

  • Will count as quiz grade

  • Chapter Quick Question Quizzes

  • Scheduled on calendar

  • Reading-progress chapter quizzes

  • Use reading log as guide

Discussion Groups

  • Meet once a week with Mrs. Heck

  • Have chapters read according to reading log

  • Bring week's choice Dessert Activity to group

  • Time to grade on completion, ask questions, and discuss higher-level concepts
