Today, we ventured across to the computer labs to research a little bit of backgrounds on our names. Tonight, students should be asking their parents how exactly their name was chosen and what it might mean to the family.

This is in preparation for writing our own vignettes, following the writings of Sandra Cisneros. This assignment, The School on Blue Ridge Drive, will count as the final assessment for House on Mango Street. If you follow along and take advantage of the time in class that I give you to brainstorm and draft, this writing project should be absolutely no problem! I think you will have SO much fun sharing part of your personal story in this way!
